Do you like the free stuff you've found here? I know I got a kick putting these free books and projects together.  I love drums and bass and as a unrepentant gearhead I love to experiment.

    But I also feel a responsibility to try to raise the level of drums and bass playing in the world. That is why at my own expense I've provided this website full of nifty information to inform and educate newbies as well as try to generate some new ideas  for long-time players.

    Because of the technical content and educational intent of this website, I've made up the name Dr. BenGenius as sort of a take-off on the old "Mr. Wizard" on TV.  I hope you understand it's all in the spirit of fun.

    While I'd like to just go on providing free nifty technology and education to the bass and drum community indefinitely, there obviously comes a time when you have to beg for money. This is it!

    I've got more cool projects in the works including a djembe book to compliment the Conga book as well as a compendium of African rhythms.  Dr. BenGenius is also currently "inventing" electric conga drums. These  are congas which are sort of in relation to acoustic conga drums as an electric guitar is to the traditional acoustic guitar. Naturally we retain the right to choose future projects. If you'd like to pick the projects AND retain all rights to the results, remember that Dr. BenGenius can be hired as a consultant!

    We'd love to just keep dumping all this new stuff out there on the music world for free, but the fact is that project development, book writing and website maintenance takes time and money.
